Many people don't know the difference between vanilla paste, vanilla extract, and vanilla essence. Vanilla essence is an artificial flavouring. It's made with chemicals, including vanillin,  with very few of the other flavour components found in natural vanilla. We would definitely suggest you use vanilla extract or our free flowing vanilla paste instead.

Extract has an alcoholic base. In a 'paste' the vanilla is on a glucose base. Our vanilla paste contains the same concentration of vanilla extractives as typical vanilla extract.  Simply replace extract with vanilla paste. Our paste is a non-alcoholic vanilla extract and is easy to use. It's ideal for baking as there's no alcohol to evaporate off and the vanilla seeds give the real vanilla look.
